Kericho nominated MCA Issack Matker has distributed assorted foodstuffs to candidates sitting the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations in 18 schools in Kipkugerwet Ward.
The donation was made under the fifth edition of the Kipkugerwet Ward Foodstuff Distribution Initiative, which seeks to support learners’ nutritional needs while easing the financial burden on families during the national examination period.
Matker said supporting candidates at different levels of the education system was an investment in their future, noting that learners needed a conducive environment to concentrate on their assessments and examinations.
“Education is one of the greatest investments we can make in the future of our children,” he said.
The nominated MCA said the initiative was intended to complement the efforts of parents and guardians by providing food support to learners as they undertake their national assessments and examinations.
He noted that the welfare of candidates was an important part of their academic journey, adding that community leaders had a role to play in supporting families and helping learners pursue their educational ambitions.
The distribution covered candidates preparing for the KPSEA, KJSEA and KCSE examinations in 18 schools across Kipkugerwet Ward, extending the programme’s reach to learners at primary, junior and secondary school levels.
The initiative comes as schools prepare candidates for a critical period in the academic calendar, with learners facing assessments and examinations that will shape their transition to the next stages of education.
Matker reaffirmed his commitment to programmes that prioritise learners’ welfare, support families and create opportunities for young people through education.
Now in its fifth edition, the Kipkugerwet Ward Foodstuff Distribution Initiative reflects efforts to mobilise community support for education and help candidates approach their assessments and examinations with greater confidence and focus.
