A multi-vehicle accident at Salgaa along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway on Thursday night, October 22, left several vehicles badly damaged and disrupted traffic along the busy highway.

Footage from the scene showed wrecked vehicles, some of which had overturned, as motorists experienced delays along the route.
Authorities had not confirmed the number of vehicles involved, the cause of the crash or whether there were any casualties by the time of publication.
The incident has renewed concerns about road safety at Salgaa, an area associated with frequent serious road accidents.
In 2009, an oil tanker overturned and caught fire in the area, killing 140 people in one of the country’s deadliest road accidents.
In a separate incident on Thursday night, Simon Mburu, popularly known as “Uncle,” who is seeking the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) ticket for the Laikipia West parliamentary seat, was reportedly involved in a collision at Kwa Wanjiku Centre along the Nyahururu-Kinamba Road.

The vehicle carrying Mburu reportedly collided with a tractor, leaving the front of the car extensively damaged.
Reports circulating after the incident indicated that Mburu was safe. However, authorities had not officially confirmed his condition or that of the other people involved by the time of publication.
Police officers were reportedly at the scene managing traffic and assisting with the response as details surrounding the incidents remained unclear.
