Ol Kalou, Member of Parliament, David Njuguna Kiaraho, is dead.
Kiaraho, who was serving his third term as MP for the constituency, having first been elected in 2013, passed on while receiving treatment at a hospital where he had been admitted with health challenges.

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula announced the MP’s death on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
“It is with profound sorrow that I hereby notify Members of the National Assembly and the entire Parliamentary fraternity of the untimely demise of Member for Ol Kalou, the Late Hon. David Njuguna Kiaraho, CBS, MP, who passed away today, Sunday, 29th March 2026 at around twenty minutes past 1am while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi Hospital,” Wetang’ula stated.
The speaker eulogised Kiaraho as a diligent MP who served with dedication.
“Until his untimely demise, the late Hon. Kiaraho served the National Assembly with diligence and commitment as a Member of the Departmental Committee on Transport & Infrastructure and the Procedure and House Rules Committee,” the statement added.
Funeral committee appointed
Wetangula also appointed Members to the Funeral Preparation Committee to liaise with the family and coordinate the MP’s send-off at a date that will be announced.
“The team will be led by the Member of Parliament for Kinangop, the Hon. Kwenya Thuku, assisted by the Member for Nyandarua, the Hon. Faith Gitau, CBS, MP and seven (7) other Hon. Members,” said Wetangula. Following his demise, condolence messages streamed in from the country’s leaders
Kitutu Chache North Constituency Member of Parliament Japheth Nyakunndi, who is also the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Treasurer, mourned his departed colleague and prayed for the grieving family.
“I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Hon. David Njuguna Kiaraho. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and all those he touched during his lifetime. May they find strength and comfort during this difficult time. May his soul Rest In eternal Peace,” Nyakundi mourned.
