Kapset FC and Black Stars have booked their places in the final of the Mercy Cheptoo Bimbin Football Tournament after winning their respective semifinal clashes at Kimulot Boys High School grounds in Konoin Sub-County, Bomet County.
In the first semifinal, Kapset FC edged out Aston Villa FC with a 2–1 victory, showcasing discipline and sharp finishing. Kapset capitalised on crucial chances to dominate key moments of the match and secure the first ticket to the championship showdown.
The second semifinal delivered even more drama as Black Stars took on Chemalal FC in a fiercely contested encounter that ended 2–2 in regular time. Both teams exhibited strong attacking intent and resilience, pushing the match into extra time.
Black Stars ultimately struck the decisive goal in the added period, sealing a thrilling 3–2 win and earning their spot in the finals.
The tournament, featuring 18 teams, began with a league format before progressing to the knockout stages. The participating teams are drawn from three zones—Chebangang, Chemalal, and Kapset—reflecting the depth of football talent in the wider Konoin community.
The much-anticipated final will be played on the 29th at the same venue, with huge crowds expected to cheer on their favourite sides.
Tournament sponsor Mercy Cheptoo Bimbin has pledged generous rewards, with the champions set to walk away with Sh200,000 and a trophy.
The runners-up will pocket Sh150,000, while the third and fourth-placed teams will receive Sh100,000 and Sh50,000 respectively. All participating teams will also be provided with uniforms and balls.
Beyond competition, the tournament aims to nurture local talent, empower youth, and open doors for scouting and player development across the region.
