APS Bomet Football Club has expressed deep sorrow following the death of Vera Omollo, the beloved wife of head coach Sammy “Pamzo” Omollo.
In a heartfelt message, club chairman Bishop Dr Fred Akama conveyed his personal condolences and solidarity with the veteran tactician during this difficult time.
Bishop Akama, who closely walked with Coach Pamzo during the final days of his wife’s illness, described the period as emotionally draining but marked by unwavering love and devotion.
He noted that the coach remained by Vera’s side throughout her illness, offering exceptional care and support until her final day.
“I personally journeyed with him during the last days of her illness and witnessed the toll it took on him. The love and commitment he showed Vera to the very end was profound,” Bishop Akama told Bomet Newswire.
He affirmed that APS Bomet FC’s players, technical bench, and management stand firmly with Coach Pamzo as he mourns his loss, assuring him of the club’s prayers and moral support.
Bishop Akama added that Vera’s passing is not only a personal loss to the coach and his family but also a great loss felt across the football fraternity.
“On behalf of the entire APS Bomet FC family, we extend our deepest sympathies. We pray that the Lord grants Coach Pamzo strength and that He rests Vera’s soul in eternal peace,” he added.
Vera Omollo’s death has sparked an outpouring of condolences from fans, colleagues, and football stakeholders across the country, many of whom have praised Coach Pamzo’s resilience, professionalism, and long-standing contribution to Kenyan football.
As funeral arrangements continue, APS Bomet FC has pledged its continued support to the coach and his family during the period of mourning.
