The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has signaled a renewed crackdown on coastal drug trafficking after arresting a popular female TikToker and her accomplice for allegedly hauling a significant stash of heroin.
According to the DPP report on Monday, February 16 2026, the suspect, whose social media presence is now under the shadow of a criminal investigation, was intercepted alongside Amir Latif in the Maweni area of Nyali.
"The Director of Public Prosecutions has taken firm action in a narcotics case involving a young female TikToker and her co-accused, underscoring strong commitment to combating drug trafficking along the Coast region," DPP stated on a post.
Authorities recovered 109.17 grams of heroin during the operation, a haul valued at approximately Ksh 327,510.
Appearing today before Resident Magistrate Hon. Green Odera in Mombasa, prosecution successfully sought an age assessment and social inquiry report for the female suspect.
To ensure the case follows the correct legal track, the court has ordered that the Nyali Sub-County Children’s Officer must determine if the suspect is a minor.
While Latif remains at Central Police Station, the TikToker has been committed to the Likoni Children’s Remand Home pending the age assessment.
The duo is being charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act.
"The two suspects are set to face charges under Section 4(a)(ii) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act No. 4 of 1994, as amended in 2022. They are accused of jointly trafficking heroin in Maweni area, Nyali Sub-County, on February 2, 2026," DPP stated.
The report further indicated that Principal Prosecution Counsel Purity Musembi has already moved to block their release, arguing that the "gravity of narcotics offences" makes them a flight risk and a threat to the integrity of the investigation.
The court will now review the age assessment and the formal bond opposition on February 18, 2026.
