Chepngaina FC made full use of home advantage to edge Konoin Technical Training Institute FC 2-1 in a thrilling Lower Rift Zone ‘B’ League clash at Chepngaina Grounds in Bomet County.
Enock Sang emerged the hero for the hosts, netting twice in the 44th and 89th minutes to secure maximum points. Konoin TTI’s lone goal came in the 65th minute through Abraham Kipkirui, who briefly restored hope for the visitors before Sang’s late strike sealed the victory.

The win sees Chepngaina, who hail from Bomet Central Sub-County, maintain their grip at the top of the table with nine points from three matches. Narok Town Stars sit second on the same number of points but trail on goal difference. Maa FC occupy third place with seven points after three outings.
Chepngaina will now shift focus to their upcoming away fixture against Magenji FC at Merigi High School Grounds on Saturday, in what promises to be another stern test in the tightly contested league.
Team Manager Zaddock Kpkoech urged his players to remain focused and avoid complacency in the title race.
“We must stay alert in the coming matches. We are not ready to drop any points, whether at home or away,” he cautioned.

Elsewhere, Olepolos FC suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to visiting Chepchabas FC at Oleshapani Field in Narok South Sub-County.
Narok Town Stars were awarded a 2-0 walkover victory against Tulwet FC at William ole Ntimama Stadium, handing them three crucial points without kicking a ball.
At the same venue, Maa FC delivered a commanding performance, thrashing Victoria Kings 3-0 to strengthen their position in the top three.
In other results, Mazingira FC of Narok fell 3-1 to hosts Kapchebet Young Stars at Tendwet Grounds, while Blue Eagles FC outclassed Magenji FC 3-0 at Chesumot Stadium in Kericho County.
The race for supremacy in the Lower Rift Zone ‘B’ League continues to intensify as teams battle for top honours.
