Rongena-Manaret, Bomet County — Infrastructure development is gathering pace in Rongena-Manaret Ward as major road construction and opening works are underway across key routes, including Mabwaita, Kures, Kaprafael, and Karapchelule.

The projects are part of Bomet County’s broader strategy to enhance rural connectivity and drive socio-economic growth at the grassroots level.

Rongena-Manaret Ward MCA Hon. Rosalyn Cheptoo led an inspection tour of the road works on Wednesday, expressing satisfaction with the progress and praising the county leadership for addressing the ward’s long-standing infrastructure challenges.

“Today, I am proud to witness the road works at Mabwaita, Kures, Kaprafael, and Karapchelule. On behalf of the residents of Rongena-Manaret, I sincerely appreciate the County Government of Bomet under the leadership of His Excellency Governor Prof. Hillary Barchok,” said Hon. Cheptoo.

She also lauded the Department of Roads, led by CEC Ambrose Kipkorir and Chief Officer Issa, for their hands-on support in actualizing the projects.

“For a long time, our ward has lagged behind in infrastructure development. But now, the opening of these roads signals a new dawn. Rongena-Manaret—fondly known as Roma—is finally getting its fair share of development,” she added.

Cheptoo noted that the current projects mark just the beginning, revealing plans for additional road openings in Mogoiwek, Kisabei, Tembwo Town, Chilaka, Saruchat, and the AGC-Nylon-Francis route.

“The promise of better roads is no longer a dream—it’s a reality. God’s time is the best, and as we always say, patience pays,” she said.

The MCA reaffirmed her commitment to partnering with the county administration to ensure timely completion of the projects while urging residents to protect and support the infrastructure initiatives for sustainable development.

The road upgrades are expected to significantly improve access to essential services such as schools, markets, and health centers—transforming livelihoods and spurring economic activity across the ward.
