Manhunt Underway After Man Allegedly Defiles Daughter in Olbutyo, Bomet County

Police officers in Chepalungu Sub-County of Bomet have launched a manhunt for a man suspected of defiling his three-year-old daughter.

According to a police report filed at the Olbutyo Police Station dated Sunday, 7th September, 2025, the suspect, Stanley Langat, accused his child before going into hiding.

The child's mother, identified as Sharon Langat, reported the incident, accompanied by her young daughter, who alleged that her husband had defiled the child at their home in Singoiwek village.

“Sharon Langat of mobile number 07xxxxxxxx, a resident of Singoiwek village, Sengemik sub-location, M/R 990505 about 6kms North West of this station, reported while in company of her daughter R.C (aged 3 years) that her husband, namely Stanley Langat, defiled the said child,” Statement reads.

Following the report, the victim was taken to Olbutyo Health Centre for a medical examination.

Authorities confirm that efforts to locate and arrest the suspect are underway.

“The suspect is still at large and efforts to arrest him are underway,” the statement continues.

The case is being handled by the Station Commander at Olbutyo.
