The county government of Bomet has officially bid farewell to Ms. Pauline Korir, the Chief Officer for Gender, Culture, and Social Services, who is set to serve the country in a different capacity.

Governor Hillary Barchok announced her exit from office today, highlighting her notable achievements and contributions to the county government of Bomet over the past three years.

The governor acknowledged the CO, noting that her department achieved a lot under her leadership.

According to Barchok, Ms Korir strengthened gender programs, promoted cultural initiatives, and enhanced the delivery of social services with particular focus on empowering women, promoting inclusivity, and ensuring that vulnerable groups within the community have greater access to essential services.

The CO is being recognized for her passion for music and art after making the county shine at different cultural music festivals.

"Ms Korir will be remembered for her passion for music and the arts. The county was ably represented at different cultural music festivals through her able leadership. She also served as the Patron of the County Government Staff Choir and will be deeply missed by the members of the choir,” Barchok said on a Facebook post.

He added that the CO had good working conditions with other Chief officers of the county and that she was elected to serve as the president of the Bomet Chief Officers Caucus.

The CO earlier praised Prof Barchok for granting her an opportunity to serve under his administration for the last two years.

“I am leaving with my head held very high, to me I have achieved much because of the support from not only the governor but also residents of Bomet County,” Ms Korir earlier said.

Ms Korir said the department has many programs that it is running, which are geared at transforming the lives of Bomet Residents.

She singled out a campaign against Gender Based Violence, which she had already initiated and had already gained momentum.

“We have started many programs, and a notable one is the one geared at fighting Gender Based Violence. We have reached many people, and the program has picked up momentum and will transform the current situation that is prevailing in the county,” Ms Korir said.
