The inaugural Chebila Pool Tournament is set to take place this Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Mogoiwet Junction in Narok’s Amalo Sub-County.
The tournament will bring together players from across Sogoo Ward.
Running from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., the event is the brainchild of youthful leader Nelly Chepkemoi, popularly known as Chebila, who has invested her personal resources to promote grassroots sports and nurture budding talent.

The competition begins at the ward level and will progress to the sub-county level of Narok Amalo Sub-County.
Participants from six wards- Sogoo, Sagamian, Ilmotiok, Mara, Melelo, and Ololulunga—will take part, with Sagamian Ward having already concluded its round of matches.
In December, the top players from each participating ward will come together for the tournament's grand finale, where they will vie for first place.
The majority of the event expenses are covered by Chebila's sponsorship, with a KSh300 entry fee going toward tournament logistics, according to the organizers.
Her funding ensures smooth operations, attractive prizes for the winners, and opportunities for young people to shine.
Chebila said the main aim of the tournament is to tap into the talents of young people and give them a platform to network, exchange ideas, and improve their living standards.
“Our main goal is to discover and nurture young talent right here in our wards,” said Chebila.
She adds: “This tournament is not just about pool, it is about giving our youth a positive space to showcase their skills, network with one another, and share ideas that can uplift their lives and our communities.”
Beyond competition, the event aims to foster local talent, foster social cohesion, and provide youth with positive recreational opportunities.
As the area continues to expand its sporting offerings beyond football and athletics, winners will get awards and recognition.
