Senator Mundigi Urges Opposition to Embrace Ruto’s Development Agenda

Embu Senator Alexander Mundigi has called on supporters of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to set aside political differences and actively collaborate with the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Speaking to the media on Sunday church service at the ACK Karurina Church in Manyatta Sub- County on October 26, 2025, Senator Mundigi stressed that cooperation, not confrontation, is the most direct path to securing continued development and progress for their communities.

He made a clear case for unity asserting that the time for partisan politics has passed and urged all Kenyans to rally behind the government's comprehensive growth and transformation agenda.

Mundigi highlighted the commitment of President William Ruto and his deputy, Prof. Kithure Kindiki, to serve all citizens fairly.

He specifically pointed to their efforts to ensure the equitable distribution of national resources, which he claims benefits communities regardless of their alignment with the opposition.

The Senator cautioned ODM supporters against being swayed by leaders who seek to sow division, describing them as politicians pursuing “selfish political interests” at the expense of ordinary citizens.

“There are individuals moving around attempting to confuse ODM supporters for their own personal gain. Ignore them and prioritize unity. Development is achieved by working with the government, not against it,” Mundigi stated.

He further suggested that this spirit of partnership was initiated by the late former ODM leader, Raila Odinga.

Mundigi claimed Odinga had begun a working relationship with President Ruto to guarantee his base would continue to benefit from the government's development initiatives.

“Before his death, Raila Odinga recognized the importance of unity and partnership with President Ruto,” the Senator remarked.

Senator Mundigi stressed that the Kenya Kwanza administration is dedicated to serving every citizen without political bias, affirming that ODM supporters are integral to the national progress vision.
