Police in Chepalungu, Bomet County, have intensified their crackdown on illicit brews, successfully seizing a large quantity of illegal alcohol and arresting two suspects during a targeted operation on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
On a statement released by the National Police on X account, a multi-agency team, including officers from Chepalungu Police Station and National Government Administration Officers (NGAO), conducted the raid in Kinyogi Village, Sugumeriga Location, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
During the operation, authorities arrested two individuals who were allegedly found in possession of substantial volumes of illegal liquor.
“During the operation, the team arrested two suspects who were found in possession of seven litres of Busaa, 240 litres of Kangara, and five litres of Chang’aa. The suspects were taken to Chepalungu Police Station and are scheduled to appear in court today, 29th October 2025, to face charges,” Police said on a post.
The suspects were immediately taken into custody at the Chepalungu Police Station.

The National Police Service affirmed its commitment to these operations, stating the continuous efforts are aimed at eradicating illicit alcohol across the country.
“The National Police Service continues to intensify its efforts to eradicate illicit alcohol across the country, working closely with local administration and communities to safeguard public health and uphold law and order,” the police said.
