Detectives have arrested two men in Narok Town over allegations of impersonating a senior government official and conning unsuspecting members of the public out of money.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in a statement on Sunday, October 4, 2026, identified the suspects as Geoffrey Kipngetich Ngeno and Kipkurui Peter Tonui, who were arrested while travelling in a black Toyota Prado, registration number KDZ 988C.
According to the DCI, the two were allegedly using the identity of a senior government official to deceive members of the public and obtain money from them.
During the operation, detectives recovered several mobile phones believed to have been used in the alleged fraud.
The phones have been seized as detectives continue examining the devices and gathering evidence to establish the full extent of the alleged scam.

Suspects remain in custody
The two suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue ahead of their arraignment in court.
The DCI urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspected cases of fraud and impersonation.

The arrests come amid continued efforts by detectives to crack down on fraudsters accused of using the identities of government officials to defraud members of the public.
