Kenya Power has announced planned power interruptions in several parts of the country on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, as the utility company carries out scheduled maintenance.
The interruptions will affect customers in parts of Nairobi, Uasin Gishu, Kisumu, Nyeri, Embu, Kiambu, Kitui, Kilifi and Mombasa counties.
In Nairobi, power will be interrupted in parts of Karen and along Bogani Road, including Kumbe Road, Baobab Estate and adjacent areas.
The outage is scheduled to run from 9am to 5pm.Parts of Gachie will also experience an interruption during the same period.
Affected areas include Waiver Bird, Kinanda Road, Kihara Road and surrounding areas.
North RiftIn Uasin Gishu County, customers in Kapkoi and Bayete will be without electricity from 9am to 5pm.
The affected areas include Cheptiret Primary School, Kapkoi, Kapkoiga, Kerita, Koiluget, Rorigi, Ndungulu, Megun, Chelalachibei, Kapkeno, Ndanai, Tarakwa, Burnt Forest, Kondoo and Cherus, among other adjacent areas.
Western and Mt Kenya regions
In Kisumu County, the planned maintenance will affect customers around Guba Market, including Wathorego and Alango markets, from 9am to 5pm.
In the Mt Kenya region, customers around Tree Tops will also experience an outage between 9am and 5pm.
The affected areas include Expages, Mweiga Mary Immaculate Hospital, Tree Tops, Sasini Estate, Njengu, Waihenya Estate and Mweiga Estate Water Pump, among adjacent customers.In Embu County, the interruption will affect Mutuobare and Kiambere and surrounding areas.
Customers at St Kizito Primary School, Karura, Gatete, Rutumbi, Gwakarigo, Isacco, Ceria, Tarda Farm, Kiambere Police, Kiambere Staff Camp, Kiambere Power Station, Kiambere Complex, Ngiire and Kavui are among those listed.
Kiambu and KituiIn Kiambu County, the planned outage will affect Lower Kabete Market and Kingeero from 9am to 5pm.
The affected areas include Kingeero Mwisho, Whitehouse and Ndongoro, among adjacent customers.In Kitui County, customers in Migwani, Nzeluni and Kyome will experience a longer interruption running from 8am to 5pm.
The affected areas include Migwani Town, Kithaunani, Thokoa, Musuani, Kanyekini, Kitumbi, Mukuuni, Nzeluni, Kyome, Mbau, Ilalambyu and Kyambo.Coast regionIn Kilifi County, parts of Mariakani will experience an outage from 9am to 5pm.
The affected areas include Msumbini Primary School, Msumbini Village, Mariakani Majengo, Mariakani Makaburini, Mariakani Town, Mariakani Market, Mariakani Police, Mariakani Secondary School, Jakaba, Miracle Church, VIL, KALRO, Way Bridge, Tosha, Leed, Shell Petrol Station, the 15th and 77th Battalions, Airforce, Kavuka Primary School and Mkilo.In Mombasa County, parts of Jomvu will also be affected from 9am to 5pm.
The listed areas include Ufuta, Weldcom, Southern Shipping, Transtrailers, Shilaji, KTDA Miritini, Bayusuf, Crown, Petrocity Jomvu, Hakika, Jomvu Medical, Jitoni and Aldina.
Customers in the affected areas are advised to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the scheduled maintenance period.
