Olbutyo Girls to Host Regional Soccer, Volleyball Tournament

Olbutyo Girls High School in Chepalungu Sub-county, Bomet County, will host a two-day soccer and volleyball tournament on May 16 and 17, 2026, bringing together young players for what promises to be an exciting showcase of talent, teamwork and sportsmanship.

The tournament, to be held at the school grounds, is expected to attract teams from various schools across the region. Organizers say the event aims to nurture sporting talent while strengthening bonds among learning institutions through healthy competition.

Both soccer and volleyball teams have been invited to register and participate in the highly anticipated games. Registration fees have been set at Ksh 1,500 for soccer teams and Ksh 1,000 for volleyball teams.

Participating teams will be required to bring their own balls and volleyball nets in line with standard regulations. Players are also expected to wear properly numbered jerseys in accordance with official guidelines.

All teams have been advised to report to the venue by 9:00 a.m. on both days to ensure smooth coordination of fixtures.

The competition comes ahead of the Term Two games, which are set to kick off in late May.

School officials have expressed confidence that the tournament will not only provide a competitive platform for students but also inspire discipline, resilience and unity among participants.

Sports enthusiasts have been encouraged to attend and support the young talents as they compete for top honours.
