The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has postponed its party nomination exercise for the Ol Kalou Constituency seat in Nyandarua County to Friday, May 8, 2026.
In a notice dated May 4, 2026, the party’s National Elections Board said the decision followed representations received from party members and candidates in the constituency. The nominations had initially been scheduled after an earlier notice issued on April 26.

The review affects aspirants contesting under the UDA ticket in Ol Kalou Constituency, with the party urging all stakeholders to take note of the new date.
The notice was signed by Anthony Mwaura, Chairman of the National Elections Board, who did not provide further details on the nature of the complaints that prompted the change.
“Pursuant to the notice issued by the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party National Elections Board on 26th April 2026, and in consideration of representations duly received from Party Members and Candidates in Ol Kalou Constituency, NOTICE is hereby given that the Party Nomination exercise for Ol Kalou Constituency in Nyandarua County shall now be held on Friday, 8th May 2026,” the notice read.
Need for necessary arrangements
The party has advised all members and candidates participating in the nominations to take note of the revised date and make the necessary arrangements.
“All party members and candidates are kindly advised to take note of the above changes,” the statement added.
The Ol Kalou seat has attracted attention within UDA ranks, with multiple aspirants expressing interest, prompting heightened internal competition.

UDA, in a nomination notice dated April 26, 2026, had said the nomination would take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, following the declaration of a vacancy in the office of Member of the National Assembly for Ol Kalou Constituency.
“Notice is hereby given that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party nominations shall be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply for nomination by registering through the UDA party portal accessible at www.uda.ke. The registration period will commence on Monday, April 27, 2026, and close on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 5.00 pm,” UDA noted in its statement.
The postponement comes amid heightened political activity as parties prepare for upcoming electoral contests, with nominations often proving contentious due to disputes over fairness and transparency.
