Bomet County Assembly invites residents to Budget Public Participation forums

Bomet County Assembly have invited the residents to participate in a series of public forums on the proposed 2026/2027 budget estimates as they begin consideration of the spending plan before its approval.

In a notice issued by the County Assembly’s Budget and Appropriations Committee, members of the public and other stakeholders are encouraged to attend the forums and present their views on the budget estimates for the 2026/2027 financial year.

The Assembly said the public participation exercise is aimed at giving residents an opportunity to contribute to decisions on resource allocation and development priorities across the county.

“The Budget Estimates for the Financial Year 2026/2027 is under consideration by the Assembly prior to approval. Therefore the Budget and Appropriation Committee invites residents and other stakeholders to a public participation forum to present their views on the said document,” part of the statement read.

Sub County Venues

According to the schedule released by the Assembly, the forums will be conducted across the five sub-counties beginning June 8, 2026.

The first session will be held in Sotik Sub-County at Kaplong Market on Monday, June 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Later the same day, residents of Bomet Central Sub-County will meet at Kanusin AGC from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, June 9, residents of Bomet East Sub-County will gather at Merigi AGC from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., while those in Chepalungu Sub-County will attend a forum at Kapkesosio AGC from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The exercise will conclude on Wednesday, June 10, in Konoin Sub-County, where residents will meet at Kimulot AIC from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Assembly has urged residents to download and review copies of the budget estimates from the County Assembly website ahead of the meetings to enable them to make informed submissions.
