Ol Kalou MP-elect Kamau Ngotho has expressed gratitude to the people of Ol Kalou after officially receiving his certificate of election, describing his victory as a mandate to serve the constituency with integrity, humility and dedication.
In a statement issued after his election was confirmed on Friday, July 17, 2026, Ngotho said he was deeply humbled by the overwhelming support he received from voters, adding that the win marked the beginning of a new chapter focused on service delivery.
“I am deeply humbled and honoured by the overwhelming trust and confidence that the people of Ol Kalou have bestowed upon me. Receiving this certificate of election is not just a personal milestone, it is a solemn responsibility to serve every resident with integrity, humility, and dedication,” he said.
The MP-elect began by thanking God for guiding him throughout the campaign, saying divine grace and protection had carried him through the electoral process.

Ngotho also acknowledged the support of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, whom he credited for their prayers, encouragement and unwavering support during the campaign.
He further thanked the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leadership and supporters, including DCP Secretary General Senator Kaba Methu, Wanjiku Muhia, elected leaders, fellow aspirants, campaign team, volunteers, polling agents and supporters who stood by him throughout the race.
Addressing the residents of Ol Kalou, Ngotho said the victory belonged to the people and pledged to honour the trust they had placed in him.
“To the great people of Ol Kalou, thank you for believing in our vision and giving us such an overwhelming mandate. This victory belongs to all of us,” he said.
He also extended an olive branch to those who backed rival candidates, promising to represent every resident without discrimination based on political affiliation.

“To those who supported other candidates, I extend my respect and assure you that I will serve everyone equally, regardless of political affiliation. The campaigns are over; now the work of transforming Ol Kalou begins,” Ngotho said.
IEBC declares Kamua MP elect
Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) candidate Sammy Douglas Waweru Kamau has been declared the winner of the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election after securing a commanding 35,440 votes, defeating United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate Samuel Muchina Nyaga, who garnered 5,450 votes.

The results, announced by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) after the vote counting on Thursday, July 16, 2026, saw Jubilee Party candidate Wilson Kigwa finish third.
“The Returning Officer, Antony Njiraine, declared Sammy Douglas Kamau Waweru of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) duly elected Member of the National Assembly for Ol Kalou Constituency after garnering 35,440 votes in the by-election held on 16th July 2026. Samuel Muchina Nyagah (UDA) finished second with 5,450 votes,” the electoral body said.
