Residents and businesses in parts of Nairobi, Nakuru, Uasin Gishu and Kisumu counties will experience scheduled power interruptions on Sunday, August 30, 2026, as Kenya Power carries out planned network maintenance.
In a notice issued on Saturday , August 29, 2026, ahead of the outages, the utility said the interruption is necessary to facilitate maintenance works on its electricity network.
“The listed areas will be under planned power maintenance tomorrow (30TH AUGUST 2026). The interruption is part of network maintenance,” Kenya Power said.
Specific areas listed
In Nairobi, parts of Likoni Road and Road C will be affected from 9am to 5pm.
The outage will affect Ideal Paints Likoni Road, Capitol Laundry, Jaykish Traders, C&P Shoes, Park View Apartments, East Africa Spectre, Panari Hotel, DTB Mombasa Road, Airtel Headquarters, Olesereni, Equity Bank Mombasa Road, Express Kenya, Diamond Estate, Balozi Estate and Park Side Towers, among other customers.

In Nakuru County, parts of Naivasha will be without electricity between 9am and 5pm.
The affected areas include Maxim, Bohemian, Kamere, OR Power Housing, KenGen Plaza and Housing, High Lift Pump, Oserian and Msambweni.
Meanwhile, in Uasin Gishu County, customers around Pan Paper Market will experience a power interruption from 8am to 5pm.
Areas affected include Pan Paper Market, Mlimani, Nabemo, Munge, Saleh and Sipande.Parts of Kisumu County will also be affected, with customers around Karebe Gold Mine scheduled to experience an outage from 9am to 4pm.
The affected locations include Karebe Gold Mine, Kibesem and Chemumul Primary School Market, alongside neighbouring customers.

Kenya Power expressed regret over the disruption and urged customers to check its platforms for updates on the maintenance schedule.
“We regret any inconvenience that may occur during the operations,” the company said.
The utility advised customers in the affected areas to make the necessary preparations ahead of the planned maintenance exercise.
