Cyprian Bundi has won the second edition of the Nanyuki Open Golf Tournament, securing the title at his home course, Nanyuki Golf Club, over the weekend.

Bundi, a member of Nanyuki Golf Club, produced a strong performance to claim the championship, a year after finishing runner-up in the inaugural edition of the tournament.

His victory came after last year’s champion turned professional, opening the way for Bundi to go one step further and lift the title on home turf.

Speaking after the tournament on Sunday, September 27, 2026, Nanyuki Golf Club chairman Paul Mwangi congratulated the participants and hailed the club’s achievement.

“The club is honoured to retain the tournament title at home, and we appreciate all the participants who came out to make the event a success,” Mwangi said.

The tournament, sanctioned by the Kenya Golf Union (KGU), attracted more than 300 amateur golfers, highlighting the growing popularity of competitive golf in the region.

For Bundi, the victory marks a significant improvement from his runner-up finish in last year’s inaugural tournament and offers a boost to his ambitions of turning professional.

The competition also provided emerging golfers with an opportunity to gain valuable experience while competing against a strong amateur field.

Participants and golf enthusiasts praised the quality of the Nanyuki course and expressed optimism that the tournament will continue attracting more golfers in future editions.

The successful staging of the event further strengthens Nanyuki Golf Club’s position as a venue for major amateur golf competitions as preparations begin for next year’s tournament.
