President William Ruto has opened the ultra-modern Main Chamber of the Bomet County Assembly, a Sh470 million investment aimed at improving legislative operations, transparency and public oversight in the county.
Speaking in Bomet County on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, Ruto said the facility has been equipped with advanced digital tools to modernise the Assembly’s operations and improve the way county legislative business is conducted.
The President said the investment would help reduce wastage while expanding public scrutiny of county affairs and strengthening accountability in the management of public resources.
“Opened the ultra-modern County Assembly of Bomet Main Chamber. The Sh470 million investment, equipped with advanced digital tools, will cut wastage, expand public scrutiny, boost transparency and stimulate meaningful development in Bomet County,” Ruto said.
Modern facilities
The ultra-modern infrastructure features a modern main debating chamber designed to support legislative proceedings, debates and oversight activities by Members of the County Assembly (MCAs).
It is also equipped with digital tools intended to support legislative processes, improve efficiency and make county proceedings more accessible to the public.
The facility is expected to provide MCAs with a modern environment for conducting county legislative business while strengthening public scrutiny of decisions and the use of county resources.
Ruto said strengthening the Assembly’s capacity would contribute to better oversight and ensure that public resources are used efficiently to deliver development projects and services to Bomet residents.
The opening of the chamber forms part of the President’s development activities in Bomet County, where he has also launched and inspected several infrastructure projects.
