Ruto, Gachagua Meet at Requiem Mass of Late Ol Kalou MP

President William Ruto and his former Deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, met face-to-face for the first time since their public fallout.

The two leaders joined family and constituents at the requiem mass for the late Ol Kalou MP David Njuguna Kiaraho.

Despite the somber nature of the event, all eyes were on the front row, where the former political allies sat just seats apart, a stark contrast to the “dynamic duo” image they once projected.

Gachagua was accompanied by his brigades led by Nyandarua Senator John Methu.

Speaking in Nairobi during the unveiling of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) candidate for the Emurua Dikirr parliamentary by-election, Gachagua urged Nyandarua residents to welcome President Ruto with respect.

He stressed that the funeral was a solemn occasion and called on supporters to refrain from any public disruptions.

“We have no issues with anyone. Tomorrow we will be in Nyandarua for the funeral of the Olkalou MP, who has been laid to rest with great honor… if President William Ruto attends, he should be welcomed respectfully, and as I said the other day, no one should shout or make noise at him,” Gachagua said.
