Bomet University has announced that its first-ever graduation ceremony will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, in a major milestone for the newly chartered institution.
In a notice issued by the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Academic and Student Affairs on Sunday, August 30, 2026, the university said the ceremony will take place at its Main Campus, where successful students will be awarded degrees and diplomas.
“Bomet University is pleased to announce that the 1st Graduation Ceremony will be held on Friday, 30th October 2026 at the University Main Campus,” the notice reads.
“The University will celebrate and confer Degrees and award Diplomas to students who have successfully completed their programmes of study and fulfilled all graduation requirements.”

The announcement sets the stage for a historic moment for the institution, which was granted its charter earlier this year and became Kenya’s 36th public chartered university.
Graduands told to confirm details
The university has urged all candidates intending to graduate to take personal responsibility for confirming and completing the necessary requirements ahead of the ceremony.
“All candidates intending to graduate are required to take personal responsibility for confirming and completing the following requirements,” the notice stated.
Among the requirements is the confirmation of academic results with respective Deans of Schools.
Graduands will also be required to verify their names, including the correct spelling and order in which they should appear in official graduation documents.
“Candidates shall confirm the full names, order and spelling to be used in the graduation programme, academic transcripts and certificates,” the university said.
Students have further been directed to clear any outstanding financial obligations before being confirmed for graduation.

“Candidates shall ensure that they have cleared all outstanding fees and any other charges owed to the University before being confirmed for graduation.”
The university warned candidates to carefully scrutinise the information they submit, noting that responsibility for the accuracy of personal details rests with individual graduands.
“Candidates are urged to carefully verify all information before confirmation, as responsibility for the accuracy of the details submitted rests with the individual candidates.”
Bomet University said further information regarding graduation applications, clearance, rehearsals, academic dress, collection of graduation documents and the detailed programme will be communicated through official university channels.
The October 30 ceremony will mark the first graduation since Bomet University attained full independence, adding another chapter to the institution’s journey as a fully chartered public university.
