Inspector-General of Police Douglas Kanja has commissioned a new Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) office block in Sotik, Bomet County.
According to a statement by the National Police Service on Friday, July 10, 2026, the new facility is expected to enhance the operations of DCI officers, improve response to criminal cases and bring professional investigative services closer to residents.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Kanja thanked the leadership of Sotik Constituency, particularly area MP Amb. Francis Sigei, for supporting the construction of the office block through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).

Partnership in combating crime
He urged police officers and members of the public to strengthen their partnership in combating crime, saying collaboration and information-sharing are critical to preventing criminal activity and ensuring successful investigations.
The police chief also assured residents that the National Police Service remains committed to professionally investigating all reported cases and ensuring they are brought to their logical conclusion.
“We remain dedicated to investigating all reported cases professionally and bringing them to their logical conclusion, so that victims receive justice and offenders are held accountable,” he said.

DCI Director Mohamed Amin, who attended the ceremony, thanked Kanja for his continued support in strengthening the investigative agency and ensuring its response evolves in line with emerging crime trends.
“Every person deserves justice, and every law-abiding citizen should be assured of help when needed,” Amin said.
He noted that the DCI had significantly strengthened intelligence-led investigations and challenged officers deployed to the new Sotik offices to serve residents with diligence, integrity and professionalism.
