Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has maintained that the longstanding political ties between the Kikuyu and Kalenjin communities cannot be severed despite political differences and individual acts of betrayal.

Gachagua said the relationship between the two communities dates back to the 1950s, when former President Daniel arap Moi visited Mzee Jomo Kenyatta during his restriction in Lodwar.

He said the historic bond had been built on mutual respect and shared aspirations, arguing that it remains strong despite changing political dynamics.

“This historical bond has been built on mutual respect and shared aspirations, and no one can sever the political ties that unite us, not even individual acts of betrayal,” Gachagua said.
