Bomet County Assembly opens internship opportunities for graduates, sets fixed deadline

The County Assembly of Bomet has opened applications for its 2026/2027 internship programme, offering recent graduates an opportunity to gain practical experience in county legislative operations.

The internship programme is open to highly motivated Kenyan graduates seeking placements in five areas: Hansard, Legal Services, Procedural Services, Outreach and Citizen Engagement, and Communication and Media Relations.

According to the County Assembly, the internships will be offered on a non-renewable basis.

Applicants must have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma within the last two years to qualify for the programme.

Documents required

Interested applicants are required to submit a cover letter indicating the department they are applying for, a detailed curriculum vita, a copy of their National Identity Card and academic and professional certificates.

They must also attach a valid insurance cover, one coloured passport-size photograph, a Certificate of Good Conduct and any other relevant supporting documents or testimonials.

The County Assembly has warned that incomplete applications will not be considered and that all required documents must be attached before the application deadline.

Only shortlisted and successful candidates will be contacted, while canvassing in any form will result in automatic disqualification.

Shortlisted applicants will also be required to present the original copies of their National Identity Cards, academic and professional certificates and transcripts during the interview process.

The deadline for submitting applications is September 4, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

The County Assembly said the internship programme is part of its efforts to provide graduates with practical skills and exposure to the operations of county legislatures.

It also said the recruitment process will adhere to constitutional principles on fair competition and merit, equal employment opportunities and representation of Kenya’s diverse communities, including opportunities for persons with disabilities.
