Tahmeed Responds to bedbug infestation on Bus

By

Tahmeed Express has responded to videos circulating online showing a bedbug infestation aboard one of its buses, saying it took immediate action to address the issue and protect passengers.

In a service update on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, the bus company said it identified a bedbug infestation on bus KCR 615 on July 17, 2026, prompting it to remove passengers from the vehicle and transfer them to another bus.

“We moved all passengers to another bus to ensure your safety and comfort,” Tahmeed Management said.

The company said KCR 615 was subsequently grounded, with all seats removed before the bus underwent thorough spraying and fumigation.

According to Tahmeed, the bus was only returned to service after the company confirmed that it was pest-free.

The operator has also announced additional measures aimed at preventing similar incidents across its fleet.

Tahmeed said it has increased the frequency of fumigation for all its buses and stopped carrying used bedding on its routes to minimise the risk of re-infestation.

The company further said it plans to upgrade its seat-cover materials to types that are less likely to harbour bedbugs.

“We value your feedback. Keep telling us when you see something that needs fixing. Your voice drives our standards,” the company said.

Tahmeed assured passengers that it remains committed to maintaining cleanliness, safety and reliability across its services.

“We are committed to delivering clean, safe, and reliable service on every trip,” the management said.
