How to check KUCCPS placement results after govt release

Thousands of students who sat the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination can now confirm the universities, TVET institutions and colleges where they have been placed after the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) released the 2026 placement results.

Applicants can check their placement through the official KUCCPS Student Portal by following these steps:

1. Visit the [KUCCPS Student Portal: https://students.kuccps.net/login

2. Log in using your KCSE Index Number.

3. Enter your KCSE examination year.

4. Use your password. If you have never changed it, your default password is either your KCPE Index Number or Birth Certificate Number used during KCSE registration.

5. Once logged in, your placement details will display the institution and course you have been allocated.

KUCCPS has also started sending placement notifications to some applicants via SMS.

However, students who have not yet received a text message have been advised not to panic, as notifications may be sent in phases.

The placement portal remains the primary platform for confirming results.

Following the release of the placement results, successful applicants are expected to download admission letters from their respective institutions once they are made available and later apply for government scholarships and loans through the Higher Education Financing (HEF) portal.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has officially released the 2026 placement results, paving the way for thousands of students who sat the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination to begin their higher education journey.

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba announced the results on Wednesday, July 8, during an event at the Edge Convention Centre in South C, Nairobi, bringing to an end months of anxious waiting for students seeking admission to universities, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, and teacher training colleges.

“I am pleased to announce that the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service has completed the 2026/2027 Placement Cycle of students to universities and colleges. Since 2014 when we began centralized placement under the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service, there has been significant growth and advancement in the placement sphere,” Ogamba said.
